2020 🖤 Roaring 20's / Crystal Vision

It is a NEW everything for me!  Back in my hometown , imagining what is possible. Last time I asked myself that was 50 years ago.  Now I have maturity & wisdom on my side! Hahahaha!
They will arrive, eventually!

I went out BOOK shopping with my sister after the children were back in their confinement, I knew the roads & shop would be calm, suitable for my outing.  Cleverly armed with a list, march straight to computer to see how many I would carry home.  One! after careful planning, reading reviews, asking myself " do you REALLY" want to read that? One book was to ticked OFF!  So cruising the shelves
with my sister ( who has a book club) she took photos for consideration, I was wondering what the hell is taking my favorite authors so dam long!  Also I prefer soft covers now as I know how heavy they all are to carry down stairs & load in small car.
Why was my sister pointing to Self Help section?

Last post, I declared I would read the author flap to get a sense of what voice? the author would
have in the story. Simply, my intuition of what to expect.
WHY,  did I forget that , I picked up "Becoming Mrs. Lewis " Patti Callahan.
Slightly recognizing the story, the author spelling her name with an " i" gave me hope of  someone
story driven. It's about the author of Narnia!  Imagination! Yippy!

I am about to start chapter 4, give me strength .   Starts out, girl marries , married man she was having an affair with. Okay boundaries aren't an issue, free spirt.  They are both writers, okay this will be tense! But then it all goes in the ditch for me.  She being an atheist, has a vision, thinks she as found God ...........I'm WTHellllll .......

I want to read different books, ( not many, hahaha) out of my favorite realm.  So I calmed, and proceeded hoping this would pass, " it's a story, the letters have just been realeased to the public "
Not every story is " The Discovery of Witches" trilogy, I must  broaden my WHATEVER?

I will review after I read ALL, I do Hope C.S? Lewis was fun in life besides Narnia.

The ONE book I was able to get from my list was
The Museum of Extraordinary Things, author....Alice Hoffman
I'm a very sure this will smooth any deep southern, baptist babble that has attacked my senses.

My little sister gifted me with a TON of gift cards, several to the bookshop, sooooooo I will be
reviewing what I read, what nonsense I get myself into and any other antics that come my way!
Beee Well, Beeeee Safe, Beeeeee Hap...Happpy! xo

  1. I LOVED The Museum of Extraordinary Things! Of course, you really can't go wrong with Alice Hoffman.

Although I just read the cover for her newest The World That We Knew and I'm not sure I can do it. As soon as I see the word "Nazi" I can't get much farther than that. I need FANTASY in my world - not anything so depressing and horrifying as the real world, thank you very much!

I did NOT get gift certificates to the bookstore for Xmas this year. Immensely saddened that my purchases need to come out of my own pocket this month. lol

& the home for Pecular children, took care of the monsters! Our youth will
take care of today's monsters. ( hahahah now there is logic for you)
Thank you for visiting and I will update that book Mrs. Lewis once I struggle through it!

  2. After reading Alice Hoffman's "Practical Magic", I thought I'd try more, but having recently ready "Faithful" I'm not so eager to scope out any more of her work. Have you read Neil Gaiman's "Good Omens" (which of course is also a wonderful series now)? ♥

    1. I reviewed The Museum of Extraordinary Things, and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Like you, Practical Magic disappointed me, thank goodness for the movie version. The Rules of Magic was good as well, I have it on my self. Otherwise I find her hard to take at times.
Oh yes! I have Neil Gaimen's The Ocean and? ( I went blank hahah)
I found it in a used bookshop! Another lucky fund! Love it, I think my eldest grandson would love to read it. After I read The Omen, I passed it to him , he loved it as well! I've seen the series & FABulous actors ,
even More I love with the story!
I have found some other Gem's & will blog about them soon!
I love hearing from you! I hope you start blogging again Soooon!
      Huge Hugs xo
