Sociable as Zelda Fitzgerald
What to do, what to do? I am no longer the " captain" but merely a stowaway and I must
reinvent myself. All the Fabulous women do.
I recently went out & got a library card ( remember this is my hometown) thankfully unrecognized.
Then I came across an event that caused the goosebumps! Historical Fiction Book Club, Oakville
Museum, February book, Z ...A Novel Zelda Fitzgerald . If that is not a lightenbolt message
what is?
(Backstory......my Mom worked at this museum , I would wait for her OUTside! Her little black swan of the family.)
Now. invisible, I gathered all the information I needed to attend in February after reading Zelda's book. Yes, Lightenbolt!
If you have read, or seen the movie, Zelda & I have several similarities.
I will report back here if I was welcomed or WELcomed!
Oakville Histoical Museum
Last post I was apprehensive about the book " Bcoming Mrs. Lewis ". Patti Callahan
I realists my trauma was probably the lack of MAGIC! I forced My way through, swallowing every
Triggered emotion this book layed out. It is a story to close to my time, many things, events, attitudes where my nemesis and memories.
Joy Davidman, acclaimed in her own right, but being a woman, young woman, in a male
academic mothballed world, was fighting up stream. I grew to like her, and as usual, the more you know about someone you admire,C.S. Lewis, the fantasy is better. Historical fiction, without REAL magic.
3stars
I do enjoy Zelda in her youth! I am reading rapidly as to be VERY prepared for MY
Museum Debut'. Full report later my friends!
Just to be sure of a sparkling success, I need my familiar genre to arm me, so I am also reading
"The Museum of Extraordinary Things" by Alice Hoffman, Are you seeing th signs? Clear to Me!

I have never been to a Book Club meeting in my life! I'm just that social. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm very curious to hear how you feel about it afterwards. If nothing else, the building is spectacular!
Either have I, and in a town ( always be to me) of fake entitlement, no matter
ReplyDeleteI know we're the bodies are buried! The book suits me, the next one not so much
but there is another Book Club in the Glen Abby library, well that should be even more fun! Exhousewives & all!
The house of Reynolds family, founding family ........the park across the street is FULL
of interesting history, wink, wink!
I will be happy to report, fairly & factually of this adventure! xo
